asked the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications what he estimates to be the monthly saving of petrol resulting from the suspension of the second collection of letters in rural areas.

The Post Office tells me that it expects the saving in a full month to approach 10 per cent. of the consumption in the corresponding period of last year.
