§ Mrs. Ann Taylorasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will change the rules relating to unemployment benefit to end the present situation whereby those people whose normal working week includes Sunday do not receive unemployment benefit for lost 735W Sunday working during a period of short-time working.
§ Mr. O'MalleyThe rules already enable a person who, in the normal course, works on Sundays but not on at least one other day of the week to receive unemployment benefit for a Sunday on which he is unemployed during a period of short-time working. But if my hon. Friend has any particular difficulty in mind and will let me know I shall be glad to look into it.
