HC Deb 20 December 1974 vol 883 cc681-2W
Mr. McCrindle

asked the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many juvenile courts are held in buildings erected before 1939.

Mr. Alexander W. Lyon

This information is not readily available and could not be obtained without disproportionate cost. While a substantial number of courts have been built in recent years, it is likely that most juvenile court sittings are held in buildings erected before 1939. This is, of course, true of many other activities. Many of these court buildings have been improved and modernised since they were first taken into use as courts.
