§ Mr. Ralph Howellasked the Secretary of State for Employment how many minutes of work were required to earn the price of one kg leg of lamb, one kg rump steak, one litre milk, one kg butter, one dozen eggs, one kg potatoes, one kg apples, one kg oranges, one kg sugar, one kg white bread, one kg haddock, in each of the nine EEC countries and in Australia, Canada and the United States of America in 1973, and up to any later available date, taking the average earnings of male manual workers and the retail prices simultaneously prevailing.
