HC Deb 20 December 1974 vol 883 c734W
Mr. Carter-Jones

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she is aware of the concern about the shortage of money for paying overtime to nurses and hospital doctors following the reduction of the agreed hours of work ; and if she will take appropriate action to meet this problem.

Dr. Owen

There is no occasion for concern. Additional funds are being allocated to health authorities to meet the consequences of the additional leave to nurses recommended by the Halsbury Committee and the increase in the minimum off-duty period of junior hospital doctors.
