HC Deb 19 December 1974 vol 883 c527W
Mr. Teddy Taylor

asked the Prime Minister if he will make a practice of his administration to ensure that when his Ministers announce important policy decisions they will not do so by way of Written Questions.

The Prime Minister

I shall continue to follow the practice of successive Governments which has been that it is a matter for Ministers to judge in each case whether parliamentary statements should be made orally or by Written Answer, according to the nature and importance of the subject.
