§ Mr. D. E. Thomasasked the Secretary of State for Wales how many community homes for children and young persons have been constructed in Wales in each year from 1971 to 1973; and how many are planned for 1974 to 1976.
§ Mr. John MorrisIn 1971–72, 1972–73 and 1973–74, two, nil and four new homes were brought into use respectively. In addition two homes were substantially upgraded in 1973–74. Five new homes are currently under construction and extensive additional facilities are being provided at another.
The 1974–75 capital building programme provides for four additional new homes and for the upgrading/extension of four existing homes. Until local authorities have submitted their proposals for capital building for 1975–76 I cannot say what provision for community homes will be included in that programme.
