§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence what British forces are at present specifically declared to (a) CENTO and (b) SEATO.
§ Mr. MasonThe Vulcans and some of the Nimrods and Canberras stationed in Cyprus and Malta are declared to CENTO. It has not been the practice to disclose details of our declarations to SEATO; but as we propose to reduce our forces in the East End, and since SEATO now places less emphasis on formal military plans, we do not intend to renew these declarations.
