§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for Energy what advice he has given to other Government Departments on the commissioning by them of professional energy consultants; how many Departments have used the services of such consultants; and what finance is available for such energy conservation studies.
§ Mr. VarleyOther Departments make full use of their own expert staff and commission outside consultants only when necessary. It has not so far been necessary to ask my Department for advice. Records are not kept centrally. The extent to which research and development budgets are used for financing energy conservation studies is the responsibility of the respective Departments.
