HC Deb 17 December 1974 vol 883 cc385-6W
Mr. Penhaligon

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will list in the OFFICIAL REPORT those constituencies in Great Britain which, according to the 1971 census, have 35 per cent. or over of the population in employment using a car as a means of getting to work.

Mr. Alec Jones

According to the 1971 census there were 316 constituencies in Great Britain in which 35 per cent. or more of the people in employment used a car for the longest part of their journey to work. I am sending the list of the constituencies to the hon. Member and also placing a copy in the Library.
