§ Mr. Hugh Fraserasked the Secretary of State for Trade whether, in view of the breach of a voluntary agreement by footwear importers from Eastern Europe leading to a 50 per cent. increase in imports at dumped prices, he will now impose immediate quota restrictions.
§ Mr. DeakinsAt the request of the British Footwear Manufacturers' Federation the question of footwear imports is being considered as a matter of urgency by my Department and the Department of Industry. This consideration has not yet been completed and I hope it will be possible to reach a decision shortly.
