Mrs. Millie Miller

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he is now able to announce the membership of the Waste Management Advisory Council; and when it will have its first meeting.

The Waste Management Advisory Council will be chaired jointly by Ministers of the Department of the Environment and the Department of Industry, and I have great pleasure in announcing that the following have so far agreed to serve:

  • Dr. A. Burges, Vice-Chancellor, The New University of Ulster.
  • The right hon. The Lord Darling of Hills-borough, former President National Industrial Materials Recovery Association.
  • Sir William Dugdale, Member, National Water Council; Chairman, Severn-Trent Water Authority.
  • Mr. P. Ellis, retired Deputy Chairman Mardon Packaging.
