§ Mr. Simsasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department if he is aware that the salary increase awarded to probation officers with effect from 1st July has not yet been paid to officers of the Inner London Probation Service; and if he will ensure that payment of the amounts due is made before Christmas.
§ Dr. SummerskillThe new scales were promulgated at the end of October, backdated to 1st July. I am sorry that it has not been possible to pay the increase before Christmas, but I understand that it is now hoped to do so at the end of this month.
