HC Deb 16 December 1974 vol 883 c327W
Mr. Noble

asked the Secretary of State for Employment what has been the annual loss of insured population from 1964 to the latest available date in the Haslingden, Bacup and Rawtenstall employment exchange areas; and what this loss represents as a percentage of the total insured population in those areas.

Mr. Booth

Between June 1964 and June 1973 the estimated total number of employees, including the unemployed, decreased by 3,800, an average of about 420 per year. This average decrease represents 1.7 per cent. of the total number of employees at June 1964.
