HC Deb 16 December 1974 vol 883 c299W
1. Mr. Whitehead

asked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection how many complaints about food hoarding have been received by her Department since 11th October 1974.

Mr. Maclennan

I have received around 140 letters about shortages, particularly of sugar, many of which have referred to hoarding. In reply I have always drawn attention to the undesirability of this pratice, and a number of consumer and trade organisations have recently expressed similar views.
