HC Deb 13 December 1974 vol 883 c264W
Mr. Biggs-Davison

asked the Secretary of State for Defence to what extent any past and present members of the Armed Forces and Civil Service have been relieved from any obligations under the Official Secrets Act, or any other undertakings, since the publication of the book, "The Ultra Secret", by F. W. Winterbotham, CBE.

Mr. William Rodgers

The Official Secrets Act and other undertakings given by individuals engaged in World War II intelligence activities still apply. Anyone wishing to publish details of his war-time experiences in intelligence should continue to consult his former Department or the Secretary of the Defence Press and Broadcasting Committee.
