HC Deb 13 December 1974 vol 883 c298W
Mr. Geraint Howells

asked the Secretary of State for Wales if he can make an estimate of the acreage of land capable of reclamation on which homes can be built in Wales.

Mr. John Morris

Not at present. A survey of the total extent of industrial dereliction in Wales is nearing completion together with a land use census of the 6,619 acres reclaimed since 1967. Earlier this year local authorities were asked to consider what contribution land reclamation could make in increasing the availability of land suitable for residential development and there are indications that there is some potential.
