Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland when the Aldergrove Airport was redeveloped; what was the expected passenger capacity it could cope with; and how many passengers have used Aldergrove in each of the past five years.

The design capacity of the present terminal facilities at Belfast Airport, which were completed in 1963, is 900,000 passengers a year. The numbers of passengers per year have been as follows:
