HC Deb 12 December 1974 vol 883 c241W
Mr. Edge

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science (1) if he will publish in the OFFICIAL REPORT the names and addresses of the voluntary aided schools;

(2) how many voluntary aided schools there are; and how many of these are Church schools.

Mr. Armstrong

In January 1974 there were 5,101 voluntary aided schools in England and Wales; all but 92 were denominational schools. The cost of listing their names and addresses in the OFFICIAL REPORT would be disproportionate to the apparent usefulness of such a list.
