HC Deb 12 December 1974 vol 883 c215W
Mr. Michael Roberts

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer how many banks are currently receiving support from the Bank of England as a direct result of the liquidity problems affecting companies in property development in the United Kingdom.

Mr. Dell

Most of the banks which are receiving support have been affected by the difficulties of the property market. The support has been arranged under the auspices of the Bank of England but is being provided for the most part by the clearing banks.
