HC Deb 11 December 1974 vol 883 c181W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what estimate he has made of increases in local rates which will take place in Northern Ireland in 1975.

Mr. Concannon

None at present. Under the Rates (Northern Ireland) Order 1972, the regional rate is made by an order of the Department of Finance, which will be laid before Parliament. The district rate is made by resolution of the district councils. On the evidence available so far there are bound to be substantial increases in regional and district rates for 1975–76.
