asked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he will make a statement on the condition of the River Clyde resulting from pollution caused by the recent strike of sewerage workers.

Mr. Millan

Largely due to recent heavy rainfall the condition of the River Clyde is better than it was in the early part of the strike and should now steadily improve.
