HC Deb 11 December 1974 vol 883 cc182-3W
Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what is the total amount per annum of pensions drawn out of public funds by former members of the Northern Ireland Government.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

The annual amount of pensions currently paid to former members of the Government of Northern Ireland—other than to former Prime Ministers—is £8,059.

Rev. Ian Paisley

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland what former Prime Ministers of Northern Ireland are now drawing pensions out of public funds; and for what amounts.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Pensions are currently paid under Section 15 of the Ministerial Salaries and Members' Pension Act (Northern Ireland) 1965 to Lord O'Neill of the Maine and to Lord Moyola. The amount in each case is £2,000 per annum.
