§ Mr. Trotterasked the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has to increase the standardisation of our military equipment with that used by our NATO allies; and whether, in order to achieve increased standardisation, he is prepared to equip the Services with more foreign designed or manufactured equipment than in the past.
§ Mr. William RodgersWe shall continue our efforts to promote co-operation in the procurement of equipment where-ever this offers overall benefits, taking account of all relevant factors, including standardisation. To achieve the full benefits of co-operation will demand a readiness by all member countries to give and take.
