HC Deb 11 December 1974 vol 883 c204W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what proposals he has to increase the standardisation of our military equipment with that used by our NATO allies; and whether, in order to achieve increased standardisation, he is prepared to equip the Services with more foreign designed or manufactured equipment than in the past.

Mr. William Rodgers

We shall continue our efforts to promote co-operation in the procurement of equipment where-ever this offers overall benefits, taking account of all relevant factors, including standardisation. To achieve the full benefits of co-operation will demand a readiness by all member countries to give and take.
