HC Deb 11 December 1974 vol 883 cc183-4W
Mr. Kilfedder

asked the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland whether Northern Ireland civil servants are to be awarded additional days' leave for "stress and strain" as is awarded currently to civil servants in the Northern Ireland Office.

Mr. Merlyn Rees

Long-standing provisions for the grant of special leave for urgent domestic reasons are applied sympathetically in present circumstances in Northern Ireland. This applies equally both in the Northern Ireland Office and the Northern Ireland Civil Service in order to relieve any cases of special strain or stress.
