§ 50. Mr. Leeasked the Attorney-General if he will review the operation of the 100-year embargo on certain State papers with a view to authorising the disclosure of at least some of these documents within a shorter period of time.
The Attorney-GeneralAs I stated in the House on 28th March—[OFFICIAL REPORT, Vol. 871, c.175–6.]—the Public Records Office, at the request of the Advisory Council on Public Records, 106W has asked a number of Departments to review the need to withold documents for this length of time. Considerable progress has been made and progress is continuing.
