HC Deb 10 December 1974 vol 883 cc86-7W
43. Mr. Goodhart

asked the Secretary of State for Social Services what discussions she is having with the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children, the Save the Children Fund and other charities concerned with the care and protection of children to see their work is not curtailed in the next 12 months.

Dr. Owen

My officials will be meeting representatives of the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children shortly to discuss the society's application for a grant. The Save the Children Fund already receives a substantial annual grant from the Department of Health and Social Security but should it or any other charity concerned with children wish to discuss the financial aspects of its work, my officials are always available for consultation.
