HC Deb 10 December 1974 vol 883 cc109-10W
Q11. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Prime Minister if he will initiate immediate consultations with the CBI and TUC concerning the implications of United Kingdom withdrawal from the EEC.

Mr. Edward Short

I have been asked to reply.

The Government have made clear that they are negotiating for success, and it would not be appropriate to initiate such consultations at this stage. It is, of course, always open to either organisation to make its views known to the Government on this issue as on any other.
