HC Deb 09 December 1974 vol 883 cc12-3W
Mr. David Price

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment what steps he is taking, in conjunction with the Hampshire County Council and the Hampshire Constabulary, to ensure that when the Windhover-Funtley section of the M27 is opened there shall be no serious traffic congestion in the side roads round the Windhover exit.

Mr. Carmichael

Consultations undertaken with the Hampshire County Council and the Hampshire Constabulary indicate that present conditions on the existing roads in the vicinity of the Windhover Interchange are unlikely to change significantly. Traffic to and from the motorway will be discouraged from using certain roads in the area by the erection of road signs.
