§ Mr. Lomasasked the Secretary of State for Social Services if she will now make a statement on compensation for vaccine-damaged children.
§ Mr. Alfred MorrisAs regards compensation, I explained the position in the Adjournment debate on 3rd December.— [Vol. 882, c. 1519–26]. On the day following my hon Friend's Adjournment debate, I announced that the scope of the family fund administered by the Joseph Rowntree Memorial Trust had been extended so that applications for assistance could be made on behalf of all very severely handicapped children and not only those with congenital handicaps. I hope that this will afford a practical measure of help to this group of children.
