According to RUC records, between 31st July 1972 and 5th December 1974 3,236 persons were charged in Northern Ireland with offences considered to be of a terrorist nature. Of these, 23 provided addresses in the Republic of Ireland, 3,212 gave United Kingdom addresses and one gave an address which was outside both the United Kingdom and the Republic.
