§ Mr. Peter Walkerasked the Secretary of State for Defence if he will give the size of the RAF transport forces after the reductions by one-half contemplated in his statement of 3rd December, together with details as to the speed with which he intends to reduce this force by one-half.
§ Mr. JohnThe final size and composition of the RAF transport force must await the outcome of the consultations we have now begun with our allies. The reductions will be made progressively, but once final decisions are taken we intend to adapt the force to its new responsibilities as quickly as is consistent with sensible and orderly planning.
