§ 48. Mr. Stottasked the Secretary of State for Prices and Consumer Protection if she will seek powers to prevent brewers from placing restrictive covenants on licensed premises when they are sold.
Mr. Alan WilliamsThe Brewers' Society has recommended to its members10W that in disposing of premises which have been licensed they should not, in general, impose any covenant which would prevent their use as licensed premises in the future. If my hon. Friend has any particular case in mind, and will let me have the details, I shall be glad to take it up with the society.
