§ Mrs. Jegerasked the Secretary of State for Education and Science what provision he is making to assist colleges of higher education in the London area to meet the extra costs of staff salaries resulting from the agreements on London weighting.
§ Mr. PrenticeThe Government's contribution towards meeting the extra costs incurred by the local authorities is covered by the Rate Support Grant Increase Order for 1974–75 and the Rate Support Grant Order for 1975–76, tabled by my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment.
The extra costs incurred by voluntary colleges of education will be reimbursed in the recurrent grants paid to them by my Department.
