HC Deb 09 December 1974 vol 883 c8W
Mr. Michael McNair-Wilson

asked the Secretary of State for Industry if he will give details of the present orders for Concorde and the option position.

Mr. Meacher

Nine firm orders have been placed for Concorde—five by British Airways and four by Air France. Iranair is negotiating with BAC to convert its earlier letter of intent to purchase two aircraft into a firm order. It has also expressed an interest in a third aircraft. There are no outstanding options involving the payment of a deposit. Discussions between the manufacturers and a number of airlines are continuing.
