HC Deb 05 December 1974 vol 882 c568W
Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has had from the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children about the effects of VAT on its financial position; and what was the nature of his reply.

Dr. Gilbert

Since the introduction of VAT a number of meetings have been held between the National Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Children and Customs and Excise, at which possible methods of limiting the society's liability to VAT have been discussed. A further meeting is to be arranged shortly.
