§ Mr. Stanbrookasked the Secretary of State for the Home Department (1) what are his estimates of the proportion of trials of summary offences in magistrates courts in Greater London which were not concluded on the first hearing day for each of the years 1966 to 1973 and for the longest period in 1974 for which figures are available;
(2) what was the average length of time between the initial appearance before a magistrates' court in Greater London of a defendant charged with a summary offence and the conclusion of the trial for each of the years 1966 to 579W 1973 and for the longest period in 1974 for which figures are available;
(3) what was the average length of time (a) between arrest and the first day of trial and (b) between the date of issue of the summons and the first day of trial, of defendants in cases tried summarily in magistrates' courts in Greater London for each of the years 1966 to 1973 and for the longest period in 1974 for which figures are available.
