Mr. D. E. Thomas

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment (1) if he will list the percentage increase in the rate support grant for each county authority in England for 1974–75; and if he will also indicate the percentage increase for the needs, resources and domestic element of the grant, with comparable statistics for the proposed increases for 1975–76;

(2) what was the total amount allocated to each county council in England in rate support grant for 1974–75; if he will give a breakdown of each of these figures according to the needs, resources and domestic element of the grant; and is he will give corresponding totals of the proposed rate support grant level for 1975–76;

(3) what was the amount allocated to each county council in England in 1974–75 on the needs element of the rate support grant as a result of the personal social services unit factor in the formula;

(5) what was the amount allocated to each county council in England in the needs element of the rate support grant in 1974–75 as a result of the operation of the acreage per head factors of the formula; and if he will give comparable proposed figures for 1975–76.
