§ Mr. Neubertasked the Chancellor of the Exchequer when the tax-free concession for luncheon vouchers was established at its present maximum level of 15p per day; what would be the equivalent level in real terms today; and what would be the cost of uprating it to that level.
§ Mr. Robert SheldonA tax concession on luncheon vouchers has been given since 1948 but the concession in its exist-568W ing form dates from 1959. The present equivalent in real terms of 15p in 1959 is 35p as measured by the change in the retail price index. The estimated cost of increasing the concession to that level is £10 million.
