HC Deb 05 December 1974 vol 882 cc599-600W
Mr. Craigen

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment if he has received the recent report of the Inland Waterways Amenities Advisory Committee; and what consideration he is giving to the report in relation to its proposals on the Forth and Clyde Canal.

Mr. Denis Howell

I have received this report from the Inland Waterways Amenity Advisory Council. The future of the canal is being discussed by the British Waterways Board, which is responsible for it, with the local authorities concerned. I shall await their views before coming to a conclusion on the council's recommendations.
