HC Deb 05 December 1974 vol 882 cc573-4W
Mr. Cartwright

asked the Secretary of State for the Environment whether, in his review of the problems of caravan dwellers, he will take into account the situation facing owners of caravans for pleasure due to site operators increasing site fees, introducing controls over the ages of acceptable caravans, and requiring the purchase of new caravans; and whether he will consider introducing legislation to give protection to this type of caravan owner.

Mr. Alan Williams

I have been asked to reply.

I am considering with my right hon. Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment and with the Director General of Fair Trading how holiday caravan owners might be protected against the imposition by site operators of inequitable terms.
