HC Deb 05 December 1974 vol 882 c575W
Q9. Mr. William Hamilton

asked the Prime Minister if he will make public the rules for the guidance of Cabinet Ministers on the use of Cabinet papers for literary purposes.

The Prime Minister

Former Cabinet Ministers are entitled for literary purposes to consult Cabinet papers which they saw when in office, but they are asked to submit their manuscripts so that they may be examined in the light of the accepted conventions. As regards the latter, I have nothing to add to the answer I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for West Lothian (Mr. Dalyell). on 15th November.—[Vol. 881, c.271-4.]
