§ Mr. Freeson"Area management" is a corporate approach within the local 537W authority's own organisation to the problems of particular areas. I am hopeful that in our trials we shall be able to study a variety of forms. Techniques of area management will be very relevant to the comprehensive community programmes being developed by the Home Secretary, as they will to the new forms of housing action embodied in the Housing Act 1974. There is already close co-operation between the Department and the Home Office on these matters.
