asked the Secretary of State for Employment whether it is Government policy that supervisory boards should be composed of management and employees appointed and subject to recall by trade unions.

Mr. Booth

The Government are committed to a far-reaching extension of industrial democracy. This will require widespread consultation and a careful examination of all aspects, including worker participation at board level, and the methods and period of appointment of directors.
