HC Deb 03 December 1974 vol 882 c420W
62. Sir John Hall

asked the Secretary of State for Education and Science why it has been decided to withdraw the London allowance from students at the Royal Holloway College when members of the ASTMS working at the college have been given a London weighting allowance of £260 per annum.

Mr. Armstrong

My right hon. Friend has made no decision to withdraw the London rate from undergraduate students at this college but the new London rate for postgraduate students, introduced in the academic year 1974–75, does not apply to postgraduate students there. Representations have been made to the Department, and my right hon. Friend is reviewing the position.
