HC Deb 03 December 1974 vol 882 c430W
Mr. Rifkind

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what discussions have been held between himself, or Ministers in his Department, with representatives of the organisation known as the Palestine Liberation Organisation.

Mr. Ennals

None.

Mr. Townsend

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs if the Government will oppose any recognition of the Palestine Liberation Organisation in any European Community-Arab dialogue.

Mr. Ennals

The Arab League has requested that the PLO should be invited to attend sessions of the Central Commission as observers on the ground that a Palestine delegation has taken part in the affairs of the Arab League since its foundation. The question is being discussed among the Nine and I cannot anticipate their reply.
