HC Deb 03 December 1974 vol 882 c447W
Mr. Trotter

asked the Secretary of State for Defence what is the total value of naval and military exports in each of the last three years and his estimate of the extent to which future export prospects will be damaged as a result of the cutback in the United Kingdom's Armed Forces and the design and procurement of their equipment.

Mr. Mason

The estimated value of naval and military exports, including aerospace products, for each of the last three years is as follows:

£ million
1971–72 242
1972–73 257
1973–74* 400
(* Provisional)

As regards the implications for industry of the proposed reduction in defence expenditure, I have nothing to add to the statement I made to the House this afternoon.
