HC Deb 03 December 1974 vol 882 c431W
Mr. Lane

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs whether men in the Indian subcontinent who apply for entry clearance to join wives settled in the United Kingdom, as a result of the recent change in the Immigration Rules, receive any preference in making appointments at British diplomatic posts compared with dependants already waiting for interviews.

Mr. Ennals

There is no uniform practice, but where conditions permit priority is given to a limited number of cases in this category.
