§ Mr. Rostasked the Secretary of State for the Environment what percentage savings in energy consumption he expects to be achieved in 1974 within his Department, by local authorities, the transport industries, the construction industry, and all Government establishments with which he is concerned; and what percentage savings he expects in 1975.
§ Mr. KaufmanWithin that part of the Government civil estate for which my right hon. Friend has direct responsibility through the Property Services Agency, I estimate a saving of up to 6 per cent. in the financial year 1974–75, and a saving of up to 7 per cent. in 1975–76 over consumption originally forecast. I hope that other bodies concerned may generally be 455W able to achieve similar savings. There may be additional savings achieved as a result of proposals still to be announced.
