§ Mr. Biffenasked the Minister of Agriculture, Fisheries and Food what is the expected net addition to United Kingdom public sector expenditure arising from the recent measures concerning beef and sugar; and how this sum compares with the United Kingdom's financial contribution to the EEC.
§ Mr. BishopThe cost of the variable beef premium scheme has been provisionally estimated at £15 million but the cost of the sugar measures cannot yet be estimated. Thus, it is too early to say what the net effect of these two measures will be on public expenditure.
